Have you ever wanted to run from Lake Huron all the way to Lake Michigan? Yeah, we know most of you probably never even thought of it. But that's ok, because now you actually have a reason to think about it (you've been stuck inside the house for the last six weeks), and a chance to do it! Without ever leaving your house or neighborhood.
The Mitten Run is a race across the state to see who can get to Empire first.
The course starts out in Lake Huron, on the pier, in Oscoda. Runners will then head west, and uphill, as they get underway. Racers will pass just south of Grayling, and through Traverse City, as they cover 160 miles on their way toward Empire,
The individual race starts on May 20 and runners have 100 days, until August 28, to get to the finish line.
The 2-person relay starts on June 19 and runners have 70 days, until August 28, to get to the finish line.
Runners will enter their own mileage and running times here on the race website. As runners enter their results, the leaderboard and overall standings will be updated live here on the website. We're also exploring the possibility of a weekly live webcast to reacp the week's results/standings.
All runners will receive a printable bib number, gender specific shirt, and finishers will receive a finisher's medal upon completion. All items will be shipped.
